Hosptial bag 4

What’s in my Hosptial bag

It’s almost time to meet these little bundles so my hospital bag is all ready to go. Ok – so I may have left it a little late- but we’re all good right.

Everyone will have their “thing” they want – or their “way” of doing things – this is mine – I hope you find it helpful – I’ll explain along the way too.

SO WHAT’S IN MY HOSPTIAL BAG:

Part 1:

Maternity pads: I love U by Kotex no wings – the wings are annoying, and these ones don’t feel too bulky & are super absorbant

BIG underwear: You can get big underwear without looking like a grandma. Loads of women like the disposable underwear – I’m not a fan. As silly as it may sound – I already feel drained, not attractive, sore, I want to feel comfy & as normal as possible in the circumstances. Bonds have some great ones that are big enough for your pad and are high waisted so you can feel comfortable too.

Maternity Bras: I have a combination of Bravado ones from The Stork Nest they are soft & comfy & supportive. I also use the maternity ones from ModiBodi which are not only comfy and flattering but remove the need for a nursing pad as they absorb any liquid. So amazing.

Lactation Cookies: Milk & Cookies by Jewel’s are my absolute go to. Her cookies are to die for & her drinking chocolate is so delicious. you can use thefigure15 at check out. One a day to help you milk supply.

Body & Face wipes: I used these all the time with Harper. Jak Organics are my favourite – Aussie brand, organics, eco friendly & gentle. Use thefigure20

Dressing Gown: This one is amazing – it’s a nursing one from Love to Dream. It has sneaky little opening so you don’t have to remove the whole thing. The great thing about a gown is that they’re no restrictive at all – you can let it all hang out if you wish & still look like a queen.

Part 2:

Nipple Cream & Perineum spray: These beautiful products from Mere Botanical are just divine. She also has a Labour Aid which is full of nutrients to keep you hydrated. Use thefigure10

Nursing pads: Reusable & disposable. I love these ones from Milk & Cookies by Jewel’s. When that milk comes in – you’ll know about it. Be ready.

Soothe: This is all rounder from Jak Organics. I use it on my lips, my nipples, my perineum and in the babies bath.

Hydration drinks: Aqua Mumma is my go do. Yummy and simple to use. Full of goodness.

Metamusil: Girlfriend – that first poo ain’t gonna be fun either way – so make it easier and softer.

Postpartum recovery shorts: Helps recovery & that feeling of a little normalcy. I love the SupaCore ones from Baby Luno Shop. Use thefigure for 15% off.

Flusable wipes: The hospital toilet paper isn’t the softest in the world – and if you’ve had a vaginal delivery you want softness on your ladies bits.

Pump Bottle: Nope not for drinking – squirt this on your delicate vagina when you wee – combined with having some Ural – this will stop the sting of the wee on your stitches.

On top of this I take:

3 pairs of leggings
2 pairs of other comfy pants
4-5 tops good for nursing – t-shirts or shirts are great
All your normal toiletries of course
A water bottle for you – stay hydrated
Ugg boots or fluffy comfy sox
A going home outfit – I try and look half decent and feel half human

AND – not to forget – a bottle of champagne. Girl you just went through 9 months of growing a child or children in my case and birthed them . You deserve to celebrate. You may not feel like much & obviously be responsible around feeding but make sure you give yourself a massive HIFIVE – for being a frickin warrior woman.

GOOD LUCK!!!

You just birthed a child – you deserve it
