home sweet home

YAY routine and Sunday Prep.  It makes such a difference.  I had the whole week sorted as well – Sunday was super productive.  I made Chris’s 23 Protein Balls, Protein muesli bars, Sweet potato shepherds pie for dinners and Chicken & Veges with black rice for lunches.  I was on a roll.  It made such a difference to the working week having this all ready to go.  Knowing you’ve got great snacks throughout the day, a yummy healthy lunch – no need to think what you’re going to have or waste money on eating out, and I just loved getting home and knowing I didn’t have to cook – happy days.

I’ve popped all my recipes on here so you can jump over and grab them.  If you can put aside just a few hours and smash it out – you’ll notice the difference – not just in how much time you have during the week but knowing you’re putting good, nutritious food into your body and not scrambling to find something to eat that’s not worth it.  This way you also know how many calories you’re putting in so you can treat yourself.  My treats this week after dinner were a hot chocolate one night – with marshmallow’s of course,  some chocolate honeycomb another night, digestive biscuits – YUM, and on Saturday I had some Cadbury Cream egg ice-cream.  These things are all ok to eat – as long as you’re not eating ALL the ice-cream in the tub.  In saying that I’ll probably end of doing that by the end of this pregnancy.

It was also great to get back in to a work out routine as well this week.  Power sessions while away are great but I do love the energy of a gym.  This trimester has been so great with so much more energy and I’m loving my training sessions.  I’ve been working on a few different exercises for my abs as well – as conventional as just don’t work anymore.  Obliques are easier  – but I can definitely feel the baby in front of me now so crunches are completely out of the question.  Chris and I did another session together on Friday.  We haven’t done this a huge amount until the last couple of weeks and it’s so great sometimes to train with someone.  He definitely pushed me again – I think next time it’s my turn to push him.

So we had our 20 week scan this week.  I was so apprehensive about this one.  4 weeks between scans felt like forever, I hadn’t felt a huge amount of movement and I’ve heard numerous horror stories in the last few weeks which was making me anxious.  I couldn’t wait to see her on the screen and hear her little heart beat.  We had an early morning appointment this time (usually we go in the afternoon) so I was up and raring to go.
Once I saw her on the screen and knew she was ok – the tears just fell out.  It’s so strange the love and closeness I feel already.  Knowing she was a ok and growing perfectly was the biggest relief.  She was growing 1 day ahead now – and weighed 325grams and is the size of a mango.  It’s crazy to think we are already half way through.  We finally decided on a car after last weekends rounds of the car dealerships – so we’re one step closer for our little family.  One of my best friends also wanted a list of things we need/want for my baby shower – so it was super fun putting together some things.

My darling Mummy arrives on Friday night so I can’t wait to see her and talk all things baby,

Love and Life
