It was back to reality on Friday after such a wonderful, relaxing time in Hawaii. The day before we left Claire and I did one of the yoga sessions the hotel offered. I hadn’t done yoga in a while – switching gyms and changing jobs I just hadn’t found a good time to go. It was amazing though and felt so great during and afterwards. I promised myself I would grab a gym timetable when I got back and try and do it at least twice a month (to start with). It felt good combining strength and stretching – being able to fully concentrate on my breathing and relax into each pose. Ahhh just thinking about it makes me feel good 😉
We ended up getting the earliest night once we got home – in bed asleep by 7:30pm – as our bodies thought it was 11:30pm. I was wide awake by 4:30am – so by the time the gym opened at 6am I was ready to go. Not a bad way to get back in to routine. Thank goodness I only had to manage 1 day back at work before the weekend – eased my way back in to it.
I’ve felt so good this week, this trimester is amazing. My energy levels are back up to what they were before I got pregnant, my skin has fully cleared up – YAY – that was really getting me down. I’m not nearly as bloated, only very slightly at night before bed, no more nausea, and I’m not wanting to eat every 5 minutes – which means hopefully I don’t turn in the whale I envisioned a few weeks ago. My belly has very slightly started to pop out – especially lying down, so now I know I’m not imagining this whole thing. Apart from needing to go to the loo every 30 mins (ok maybe longer but it feels like it) I’m feeling FAB.
Today was a little bit exciting – we went baby shopping. (Not shopping for a baby….that’s what that sounded like – haha – we have that sorted). Anyway – we were talking prams a few weeks ago and my Dad Kindly offered to purchase it for us . My step sister has an Egg so he recommended we go and check it out. The only place we could find close to us that sold them was Baby Mode. We’d never heard of it before but as long as we didn’t have to drive and park in the city we were happy. The Egg strollers have only been in Australia for about 10 months so still very new. We also had been struggling to find a nice, well priced cot and matching drawer set – and after having a look on their website Baby Mode seemed to have some good things. Well – I’m not sure if they were ready for us but we LOVED it. They had so many different options for prams as well as the full Egg range, and a huge amount of cots and drawer sets – thank god! After 3 hours – driving poor Amy – the amazing shop assistant – crazy. We had brought almost everything major we will need. Now we just need to get the nursery painted so we can start putting things in there. 1 things that did throw a spanner in the works however – was the capsule/car seat issue. Both our cars are 2 doors – and although both have isofix attachments – there was no way we were getting a baby capsule in and out of either car with ease. So the day got a little bit more expensive as we’re going to have to buy a new car – and my car is only 1 year old. We decided not to think about that – as we were having such a lovely day haha. That can be next weekends problem.
I’m away for work all of next week – in Adelaide and Perth so it’s time to get my Figure Bands out for some in room works outs. My gym sessions are still usually between 30-45 minutes and I keep my power sessions with my bands to 30 minutes. Just because I feel great and my energy levels are higher I don’t want to over do it – there’s just no point. As long as I’m targeting all areas of my body throughout a week and eating well I’m doing the best for our baby. If the weather is nice I may even pop outside for 1 or 2 during the week.
